Germán Cano scored 13 goals to lead Fluminense FC to their first CONMEBOL Libertadores title, defeating Boca Juniors 2-1 at the Maracaná. He became the tournament's all-time single-edition top scorer and the first foreigner to do so for a Brazilian club.
